Honda of America Manufacturing
Global Production Control Systems
Case Study | Continuous Integration and Build Automation

Honda of America Manufacturing hosts all Global Production Control Systems (GPCS) for North American manufacturing plants. GPCS is mission critical, therefore subjected to the highest availability standards during production hours, with downtime costs exceeding $25,000 per assembly line per minute. DCI supported the GPCS application and infrastructure for ten assembly lines in North America, that carried a potential cost for downtime that exceeded a quarter million dollars per minute.

DCI made significant technical contributions to the GPCS software and build process, that facilitated adoption of GPCS worldwide. Ultimately, DCI team members were sent to Canada and the United Kingdom to assist with the initial rollout. DCI continued to support GPCS for over six years in North America with GPCS never causing production downtime during our tenure.
